Biomedical science vs medical laboratory technology?

in terms of job openings and pay what is the best? i heard that the two are just same. could you guys explain it pls. would appreciate your feedback. the thing is that edexcel has started HND biomedical science in sri lanka and when i wanted to enrol, my bro said MLT is much better and has more job prospects and HND BMS is just a research oriented thing.
