Why won't my dog eat her Kibble?

She is about 45 pounds and twice a day we give her Krunchies Dog Food. We were told by the vet that it was better for her but she just doesn't like it. The only way I can get her to eat is if we leave it out overnight and she REALLY gets hungry or if I sit next to her and give her little scoops of it out of my hand. But twice a year I go to West Virginia for a week and nobody else in the house has time to do it, and will this cause any behaviour problems. My Mom thinks it will cause problems. Help?
