My cat won't eat his wet food.?

A few days ago, out of the blue, my cat got sick. He was growling and hissing every time I touched him, he tried throwing up but nothing would come up and he had diarrhea 3 times! I called the vet and she said he either ate something he shouldn’t have or maybe he was backed up. Well I waited it out and the next day he was acting better, wasn’t growling or hissing, he passed some normal feces but he didn’t have an appetite and he still doesn’t. I feed him Wellness chicken can food and I’m not sure if he got sick off of that, the vet didn’t seem to think so. I tried giving him some dry kibble and he ate that. The thing is, I know how horrible dry food is for cats so I don’t want to put him back on it. I want him to stay on the Wellness chicken can food but he wants nothing to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions?!?!
