Information about dog seizures?

My dog gets small looking seizures every now and then..and it really worries me. The doctor said there might be something wrong with his liver? but those test are expensive and were just giving him some medication. He's a 3 yr old chihuahua. Has anyone had the same problem with their dog..if so what did you do? Thanks all feedback is helpful!!
