I don't think your an animal abuser at all!!, I believe that your giving the dog enough exercise and caring about it, I remember I kinda did the same routine when I used to have a dog and it was perfectly fine. At least your playing with the dog and giving it attention thats all that really matters. If you were an abuser then you wouldn't care about the dog and punish him.
