Why won't my dog eat any thing?

Id try a new brand, my husbands 2 dogs will only eat one kind of dry food which is very expensive and people have told me to give them cheaper stuff and theyll eat it when they get hungry enough but why cant they have something they prefer! Would you eat something you just didnt like? day in and day out :)
