I now have them on nutro and she somewhat eats it but isn't gaining any weight and the german shepherd is good and healthy I'm thinking about switching her to something else but I wouldn't know what. Her bowels are at least solid so maybe its the heat and because its her first time blowing her coat.

Im looking to change my dogs current food. He has a health issue and needs to have low fat food. He also has a sensitive GI system. 2 months ago he had a infection in his colon and needed to eat chicken and rice. He is all clear from the infection and is back to normal. I started to introduce his kibble slowly back into his diet. I started to add 5 kibbles. The day after I started to re introduce the kibble he began to have GI issues again. So, I believe he may have a allergy to grain or the previous food. I worry that the chicken and rice does not have all of the nutrients he needs in his diet. The food he previously ate is California natural organic low fat lamb and rice. Any suggestions?

Why won't my dog eat her Kibble?

She is about 45 pounds and twice a day we give her Krunchies Dog Food. We were told by the vet that it was better for her but she just doesn't like it. The only way I can get her to eat is if we leave it out overnight and she REALLY gets hungry or if I sit next to her and give her little scoops of it out of my hand. Why is my 1 year old Beagle showing signs of violent agression?

My Beagle is a little over a year old and is showing rabies-like symptoms. I've done some research and my dog has been showing some of the listed symptoms of rabies, but I'm not totally sure. Today AND 3 days ago he, for no reason whatsoever, attacked 3 people including my mother, grandmother, and brother. He has been vomiting profusely, and attacks people with no provocation or reason whatsoever. I believe it might be the result of a new kind of kibble he is eating (he used to eat human food) but I'm not completely sure. His violent episodes usually last 15-25 seconds, and include gnashing of the teeth, intense growling, bloodshot eyes, and no sense of self discipline or pain (we slap him right above his tail for discipline). Any answer as to why this good-natured, cute dog has insane episodes will be helpful.

My 4-year-old cat has had a problem with frequent vomiting ever since I got him 2 years ago. This is way more often than a normal cat would vomit. It always happens within minutes of him eating. He can't keep down any canned food at all, and the mess from that wasn't too fun for me, so he is on dry kibble diet only. I use Iams hairball care formula, but I do not think this is from hairballs. (I never noticed any hair in the throw up.) It appears to be long clumps of undigested food. The most he can go is maybe 3 or 4 days without vomiting after eating and then it happens again. Remarkably, he shows no other signs of illness and manages to stay at about 10 pounds or so, which is normal weight for an adult cat. I even tried feeding him in very small increments several times a day and the results were, if he was going to vomit he would, even from less than 1/4-cup of dry food. Like I said, I have let it go on because he seems very normal otherwise and is not losing weight, but it is very frustrating to say the least! Could it be possibly be food allergies? Sorry for the long post!

Trying to size a header what can I do?

I have a house that is 28 feet deep (about) it's a cape cod with a somewhat finished attic. The floor joists for the attic (or cieling joist for the main floor) are spaced 16" o.c. and are 2x8's. Obviously the 2x8's don't run the whole width of the house with out hitting a support wall. However there is a stairwell to the upstairs and the 2x8's run from the outside wall to the stair well wall(10ft or so), which is built in Face Framed 2x4 including the top plate and the 2x8's rest on the face framed 2x4 wall (not nailed to doubled up 2x8's like in normal framing). I would like to open up the stairwell and header up the whole stair well wall. So one beam would hold all these floor joists over an 8 ft span. This is in wisconsin so assume snow load and maybe 40psf since it will be a living area above I guess. It looks like if I'm reading the span table right that I'm going to need 3-2x12? Is this correct or can I get away with 2-2x10? Worst case scenario I can put one colom in the center If I need to. And yes all the supports have been worked out in the basement area to compensate.

Whenever I work out I get depressed. I try to compensate by eating a little more since there seems to be a direct correlation to calorie consumption and depression, but it's really hard. I abstain from any drug use such as coffee or alcohol.

Orijen Puppy is the kibble smaller than the adult version?

I am trying to find out if the Orijen Puppy dry food is a smaller kibble size than the adult version of Orijen. I don't have any local retailers that stock the product and have to order online but if its the same size as the adult kibble it will be too big for my 1.5 pound puppy. My cats ate kibble and canned food for 15 years and I switched them recently to raw organic grain-free with just small amounts of Wysong Uretic because if Tigger doesn't have it she will absolutely get a UTI. They can eat it, but for example right now it's lamb stew meat on the menu for them and the meat has to be cut into tiny chunks about as big as a pea for Tigger and slightly bigger for Tabitha. The willingness is there-Tabitha will eat huge chunks when it's ground, but their jaw strength is just dismal. Their teeth actually aren't bad and they are generally healthy, strong cats, but you can't expect 15 years of commercial chow not to do some damage. That's something I'll always have to live with I suppose, but I'm trying to help them as best I can. On the bright side, I can already see an amazing difference in them!

How much will I get for vehicle totaled by a manufacturer recall?

I just took my car to a dealer to be inspected due to a recall notice, and the dealer found that the car was indeed affected by the recall and was not repairable (or at least they didn't want to pay for it). How am I going to be compensated? High quality dog food?

i feed my dog a high quality dog food at this time. i feed him chicken soup for the dog lover's soul but he doesnt like how big the chunks of food r. he refuses to eat it. even if i water it down or mix in a little wet food. he wont eat it because it is too big. he isnt a small dog by any means but he just really likes the smaller chunks of food. so r there any high quality foods that make it in smaller chunks. i feed chicken soup for the dog lover's soul right now and he likes the taste but hates the size of the kibble. so what other high quality food can i feed him. i refuse to feed iams or purina or ol roy or any of that garbage... i hate to say this but the only dry food he will eat is iams mini chunks. but i refuse to feed him that. i started him on that when he was about a year old and before i knew anything about good dog food. so what do u reccomend. i also refuse to feed royal canin. so does canidae or innova have smaller chunks than chicken soup. i just want good food 4 him.

They generally won't allow it if you're not even a student at the university (which it doesn't sound like you are). I've had friends sit in on upper level classes with the professor's explicit permission, but they were already students at the university. If you don't at least audit the class, you have no proof that you attempted to learn the material, so employers won't care. Don't waste two years sitting in classes you can't get credit for. Since you don't need a degree for your career, just start it after you finish up these first two years, then go back once you can afford it.

What can help rid my ferrets of diarrhea?

I have 3 ferrets and they all have diarrhea. They have constant supply to fresh water, they eat Evo kibble, don't have access to anything they are not supposed to eat, have baths as needed, get regular nail trimmings, have clean ears, eyes, and teeth. They are overall spoiled, but healthy ferrets! Is there anything I can do to get their bodies working properly so they don't have diarrhea?

Aggressive greyhound...?

I am currently fostering a greyhound boy who is up for adoption. I have two other dogs; a Labrador girl and a small crossbreed boy. The greyhound is very aggressive towards the other two, especially with food around. When I feed them their kibble, he snarls, growls and snaps at the other two. It's most likely not the chicken. The way to truly test the chicken theory is to feed the dog a bit of boiled unseasoned, defatted chicken and see if you get the same response as you do with the food. I've learned from experience that more dogs have issues with the plant components of dog foods. I have a dog that doesn't tolerate peas or legumes. I didn't realize how many of low grain foods contained peas and alfalfa as protein sources. It may take you awhile for you to find the offending source of the allergy.

I got my 8 week old Yorkie puppy yesterday and he only peed 3 times today and pooped once. I thought small breeds had to go more. Blacking out while on minocycline?

i've just started taking minocycline for acne on my face for two days. i also apply edpiduo cream on my face several minutes before i go to bed. i take one minocycline antibiotic when i wake up and another several hours before bed (since you can't lie down after taking it). i do eat a snack before each pill (my dermotologist requested i do so) and swallow it with plenty of water. this morning (the third day i will be on minocycline) i woke up with terrible stomach pains/nausea. i decided to get up after dealing with the pain by lying in bed for half an hour. i got up slow, looked in the mirror, saw i was extremely pale, and then blacked out. i managed to lie down before i completely lost my balance. once i laid down, the ringing in my ears was awful for several minutes. this has happened to me once before a while ago, but i wasn't on any antibiotics or anything. for now, i'm going to drink like a fish and still take the pill; however, if any new side effects occur, i'm calling my derm. i'm unsure wether the ringing in my ears (since that is a specific side effect listed on the bottle) or blacking out is from the drug, or if it's from some stomach bug. has anyone who took minocycline had this problem? thanks for your feedback!

Ok first problem is her diet. I realize you're just sitting, but her owners need to feed her a higher quality food. Meijer brand dog food is most definitely crap. Even a step up to Science Diet would be better than that junk. Her stomach is probably not handling the junk well. She might also have a bug causing the poop issue. My dog had green diarrhea at one time and the doc said it was probably a bacterial thing. He gave us meds for it. Call the owners and let them know. And for God's sake.. tell them to reconsider their food choice.

Ten years ago our defense budget was about 400 billion, a small faction of it 'borrowed'. Today it's close to 800 billion dollars, mostly borrowed money. Ten years ago Medicaid was fully funded in this state, very few low and no income people were turned away. Starting tomorrow the first 15,000 Americans will not have access to what for some is life supporting, ongoing medical care unless hospitals do it 'for free'. I need some feedback on this..we're spending a billion dollars a day in Iraq and Afghanistan..some it to provide medical care for the people in that country...their people...not ours! What's wrong with this picture? Help me out here.

My goal is to try to reach level 7 by the end of next week. The strangest fact is the Language Questions can't seem to become any easier and I'm trying to find a topic I know so I can at least give good quality in an answer. That got me thinking as to how can I quickly rank up points without using the cheating method? I'm not receiving a lot of good thumbs up for my best answers or a lot of good possible feedback to help me improve. If my Starry Night has worked within the last month, I probably wouldn't have lost my Top Contributor badge there because everything I say on that forum is based off of knowledge from Starry Night. Since I can't find the disc, maybe it's time to start relying on something else? I think it tells me only up to 50 count and last time I won best answer, it was for a Japanese question and I won 12 points but for German questions I never seem to get anything and I explained my answers quite clearly using clear English and German. My ten year old 7lb poodle hasn't wanted to eat her kibble lately.?

Last week she ran out of the purina lamb and rice (with meaty pieces) food that I always have bought her, and coincidentally, I wanted to try Purina for Sensitive Systems for her. She ate a little sunday night, and monday morning had diarrhea. I called my vet, and they said because of me not slowly blending it overtime, that was a normal reaction for her. She also told me to return to her usual food. Which I did, but for two days she did not want to eat any. Concerned, I went back to the vet and bought their bland diet canned food for her, and she gobbled it up right away. I've been giving her this for three days now, because she still will not eat her kibble even if she hasn't had anything else. I'm wondering if she's "traumatized" thinking that the Purina Lamb and Rice was what made her sick, and therefore doesnt want to eat it? Any suggestions? Or any other dry food that might work well for her? I know you're not supposed to change their food too often, because that can make them sick as well as make them picky eaters. I am going to take her to the vet next monday for a teeth cleaning, and I will ask questions then as well, I am just wondering if there is something else other than the bland food I can do for her to get her back to eating dry kibble. Even if I blend the bland food and kibble, she spits out the kibble! Any suggestions? She is still acting like her normal self, there are no signs that anything is not "normal" other than her not wanting to eat kibble specifically. My kittens have little hangy tummies?

they are 7 months old, eat 55 grams of kibble each a day (the amount for a 3kg adult cat) they never have treats or anything like that, since they were neutered we got advised to swtich them onto adult cat food rather than kitten as kitten has more fat in it but they have little hangy tummies ?(not huge!) they are tiny everywhere else do you think they need more exercise? i have aalready reduced thier food intake since they were neutered, i'm thinking that cos they're so small everywhere else it makes thier tummies look bigger?

How do I stop food aggression in puppy?

My puppy is 5 months old and since I got her, she has had problems with food aggression but lately it seems to be getting worse. She will growl at my kitten or cat even when they are like 5 feet away from her. It doesn't matter what she is eating (bones, kibble, marrow bones, raw meat) she growls at anything and I am wondering how I stop this behavior. When she starts to growl and get defensive I say in a loud firm voice no and if I get close she will in turn then growl at me. I have been removing the prized item when she acts like this because I don't want her attacking my cats (and possibly my daughter in time). The reason I take the item away is basically to try and teach her that behavior is bad and she won't be rewarded for it but punished instead, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Any suggestions? I have been doing research on problems that have developed over the years from my poor gait. What I'm finding is that it is common for knees to lean inward when pronation is present and to lean outward when supination is present. However, I tend to supinate excessively and to compensate my knees have twisted inward. When I stand with my feet straight ahead, my knees both point inward at almost a perfect 45-degree angle. This condition is causing knee pain and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get into and out of a squat. I am 37 and overweight by about 40 pounds. I'm trying to lose weight but am very frustrated because, due to my knee pain, I'm finding it difficult to exercise. Are there particular exercises or orthopedics that can be recommended to help correct my gait and return my knees to their proper position?

Im looking to change my dogs current food. He has a health issue and needs to have low fat food. He also has a sensitive GI system. 2 months ago he had a infection in his colon and needed to eat chicken and rice. He is all clear from the infection and is back to normal. I started to introduce his kibble slowly back into his diet. I started to add 5 kibbles. The day after I started to re introduce the kibble he began to have GI issues again. Is my toy poodle eating normally?

I just adopted a pure bred toy poodle a couple days ago. Since i've brought him home, he hardly eats. I am feeding him twice a day, and each time he's only eaten 10-15 little kibble bites. I am using the same dog food the breeders used and am softening it with a little warm water. I bring him over to his dish and for a few times, he'll eat and then after the 10-15 pieces, he runs away and i can't get him to come back. He seems to be straining to poop also. I take him out every couple of hours and he almost always goes pee, but only poops a little tiny bit. It doesn't seem to be too hard, and its not diarrhea. It took him about 5 minutes and it wasnt any bigger than a dime size. I am just wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong with him!! By the way, he is 8 weeks old and weighs 2.05 lbs.

First off you would have been violating the Terms of Service, which is different then violating the law. Second sure sounds to me like you DID violate the TOS. Third ignorance is no excuse, as they likely had you say from the start you agree to the TOS. Can breaks be compensated?

I work at a restaurant and during my once a week 6 hour shift, we are allowed a 15 minute break. Then I notice that they deduct this out of our paycheck. I've been reading labor laws and it seems to say that for shifts of 5 or more hours, a 30 minute meal period is required unless waived by both employer and employee. However this restaurant allows us a certain amount of food free, (enough for lunch) and a drink. My question is, am I entitled to compensation for these 15 minute breaks where I'm relieved of all duty and can leave the premises?

If anyone feeds EVO can you tell me the difference in kibble size between the ''regular'' food and the small bites. My dog eats Orijen just fine so if you can tell me if the regular kibble is bigger or smaller than Orijen kibble that would be great. Or you can compare to Taste of the Wild or Blue Wilderness. Natural arthritis remedies for cats WITHOUT side effects?

I have two healthy spayed 17 year old cats. One was overweight for years despite my best efforts until I started giving them canned and raw foods. She dropped her excess 7 lbs and gets around a lot easier, but still has arthritis. Here's what I already do-they eat Wysong Uretic kibble at night because Tigger needs it to prevent UTIs. During the day they get Paw Naturaw organic grain-free raw food on demand, watered down with Gerber Pure nursery water (that's all I give them to drink or use to cook their food) to increase fluids. They also get small amounts of cooked organic chicken, cooked grass fed organic beef, and wild caught fish, mostly salmon. They get a daily supplement cocktail consisting of wild salmon oil with Coq10, taurine, L-carnatine, Organic Pet Superfood Immunity mushroom blend, digestive enzymes, milk thistle, and B-complex. When I get my next paycheck I am adding RNA (they've taken it before) and grape-free resveratrol. I also just started giving them small amounts or organic apple cider vinegar. They sleep on high density thick orthopedic beds and Tigger has a heated blanket. She also has an ion bracelet that I attached to her collar. She is entirely indoor. The vet suggested Metcam, but I refuse to use anything with a mortality rate, never mind a 30% mortality rate. I don't want to use glucosamine or chondroiten because they can contribute to diabetes. I've already tried turmeric, which did help a bit, but she had difficulty keeping it down and it was an ordeal to get it in her mouth in the first place. It isn't terrible-she still jumps on the couch and runs up the stairs, but it just bothers me... probably mainly because I have a same age arthritis -free cat to compare her to, and Tabitha still runs and jumps all over the place-nobody believes she's even half her age, and Tigger really doesn't jump except to get up on the couch or when I make her run up and down the stairs, although she does walk around a fair bit and will run after the dog on occasion

Should i be getting paid for doing this?

My workplace wants me to watch some training videos. My problem is they want me to do it before my shift, after my shift, or during my lunch break (basically they want us to watch a bunch of hours worth of videos off the clock). MY question is; is this legal? I've heard that training and anything work related must be compensated for. Also, I took a management position and they wanted me to do some work books at home on my own time. My dog hates kibble, what are some reasonably priced and healthy alternatives?

I have a 10 month old Maltese and he absolutely hates kibble. He does not eat it, even if it's mixed with wet food and if it's dry he would rather starve. He has a healthy appetite, but when it comes to kibble he might as well be anorexic. I've tried everything (from removing it 45 mins after giving it to him and not giving him food until his next meal to mixing it with wet food) and every brand (blue buffalo, solid gold, wellness, etc.) and every meat (lamb, salmon, chicken, bison) and it makes no difference. Today i gave him some wet food with Wellness and he managed to eat the wet part and throw kibbles around the kitchen floor (he literally spits them out!). He loves Stella & Chewy's dried freezed lamb patties but they are quite expensive... a bag of 12 is $10.99 and he needs to eat about 4 a day. Are there any other more reasonable options? Anyone have similar experiences?

Dog I'm dog-sitting is changing.. afraid of what the owners think?

He is very well trained when we first received him. He slept in his cage every night and he didn't make a sound. Now, he cries and yelps when in his cage when we put him in at night. Is it because our own dog gets to sleep on the bed with us so now he wants to do the same? Also, the dog is constantly looking for human food or my dog's wet foot; he doesn't eat his kibble now. caffeine, adderal and cocaine are all stimulants to the brain... so that can explain the energetic burst. caffeine is addicting, and if you did enough of cocaine, you would become dependant on it. maybe the way the caffeine reacted with the chemicals in your brain gave you that burst. starbucks seems to do this to a lot of people, thats probably why people love it so much :)

Why does my puppy still have diarrhea?

Ok, this is a long story so I'm going to try to some it up. I have a 6 month old small breed puppy that was spayed three weeks ago. The day after her surgery she had diarrhea about 6 times, so we took her back to the vet. The vet thought she might be sensitive to her pain medicine so took her off of it and put her on an antibiotic/antidiarrheal and a diet of boiled chicken and rice for 3 days. A week after the spay I came home from work and the puppy had diarrhea and vomited all over and continued to do so - both were dark brown in color. I rushed her back to the vet where they told me that she was probably allergic to the antibiotic and told me to stop giving it to her, but gave her two medicines; one for diarrhea and one for an upset stomach and to put her back on the bland diet for at least a week. The next day we were back at the vet as her incision from the spay was oozing, there was no infection but they put her back on a different antibiotic. The day after that she was not eating, started vomiting and was lethargic the entire day (this was the first time she exhibited symptoms other than diarrhea/vomiting) the vet told us to stop the new antibiotic but keep her on the two medicines for her tummy. She seemed to be doing better so after a week of no vomiting we started weaning her off the bland food by mixing her kibble in, and then increasing the kibble and decreasing the rice until she was on just kibble. The first day she was off the bland diet she pooped ALOT (6-8 good size poops) but we thought maybe she was just backed up from all the rice. The next day she started having loose stools but we figured she needed time to adjust to being back on regular food. We haven't given her anything other than kibble, no treats or rawhide or anything. For the next two days she had diarrhea on and off, and today it has been all diarrhea thats a nasty yellow color. I tried calling the vet tonight but they closed early, and since she is acting ok I didn't feel the need to call the emergency clinic, so I will call our regular vet in the morning. She is still acting fine, even a little more rambunctious than usual, and until today had a pretty healthy appetite. I am worried about her, and concerned that with the medicines (which she finished a week ago) and the bland diet may help but they are only treating the symptoms, not the actual problem. I do not know if it was related to the surgery or not, only that it started right afterward. Has anyone else experienced this with their dog, or do you have any ideas or questions that I can talk to the vet about? Thanks!!!!

Just wondering, I put my dogs food in a strainer or cheesecloth and just run it under water so its not soggy but is moist on the outside(still crunches), dry food does not keep dogs teeth clean, that is a myth! Dogs actually have a very poor sense of taste, which is probably why they eat things that are so disgusting. At any rate, teach your dog the command 'leave it' and eventually, you can start telling her to 'leave it' when it comes to that delicious doo doo! She'll hear you tell her leave it so many times that one day, you'll find that she won't even get near it anymore.

My dog is pooping out a brown jelly-like substance with some specks of blood?

Okay, I am super worried. The vet is closed already so I'm gonna take her tomorrow. My dog has been like this for 4 days straight & she kept me up ALL night taking her out every hour of the night. She poops out a jelly like substance that literally looks like egg whites but is brown. Today I discovered some red specks of blood on it. It's not a lot but she does go out a lot so it adds up. I did change her food to the wellness brand & I made her try the 3 types for allergies. The duck & rice and salmon & rice didn't cause this but the lamb & rice is triggering something & honestly this one she eats without a problem. She's been off of her other food for 5 months onto this brand but I haven't seen her devour her kibble like she has with the lamb & rice one. I've also been seeing her eat grass outside so can that be the problem. Please help I'm freaking out!

Do you raw or kibble feed? Why or why not?

I feed Orijen and Acana kibble with usually a high quality meat based canned food. I feed her this because it is what she likes and is doing amazing on. I haven't done anywhere near enough research on raw diets to feed an all raw diet to my dog. It is also not that convenient for me anyway. Surprisingly my dog doesn't seem too excited about raw meats unless it's freeze dried.

Previously abusive dog owners---do they deserve another chance?

NO I do not. When I was younger my brother abused my dog pretty badly. He was 15. That was quite a few years ago, he is now grown. My cat won't eat his wet food.?

A few days ago, out of the blue, my cat got sick. He was growling and hissing every time I touched him, he tried throwing up but nothing would come up and he had diarrhea 3 times! The thing is, I know how horrible dry food is for cats so I don’t want to put him back on it. I want him to stay on the Wellness chicken can food but he wants nothing to do with it. I have two spayed female cats in their late teens who are healthy now, but I like to be proactive. I saw a friend's cat die of CHF and it wasn't pretty. They eat Wysong Uretic kibble (without it Tigger will invariably get a UTI) as well as some raw organic grain-free frozen pre-made food called Paw Naturaw, premium grain free organic canned cat food, and some homecooked wild fish and other raw or cooked organic grass-fed meats (i do a homemade organic grainfree mostly raw diet for my dog and give them anything out of what she's eating that they want) they also get extra taurine and lcarnitine for their hearts, as well as a gut health mix of prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes (to prevent their touchy tummies acting up) as well as salmon oil with coq10 and 1 ml organic apple cider vinegar for arthritis. tigger also gets turmeric for her joints. One week a month they get milk thistle to keep their livers clean and they get dried organic parsley blended into their raw/canned mix to assist kidney function. I also give them bottled water only, and in a mug to encourage drinking, since they seem to like it better than a bowl. I also blend water into their raw/canned mixture until it's a soupy consistancy. What else can I do?

How do I transition my dog from home cooked food to raw frozen patties ?

I have heard that it is not good to feed cooked and raw foods at the same time because they digest differently, but i have also heard that it isnt good to switch to a new food abruptly. The only advice I can find online is how to switch a dog from kibble to raw but my situation is completely differen because i ahve been cooking my dog home made food for a long time. Feeling sad and devastated over the new of ex getting married.?

Kittens refuse to eat dry food, only wet; have diarrhea?

We have a litter of 6 kittens that are almost 2 months old. They prefer to only eat wet food, but it seems to give them diarrhea so we use it very sparingly. More recently we don't use it at all. They make an attempt to eat the regular cat kibble, which ends up being too much for them and they throw it back up. We've tried 2 different brands of kitten kibble, a generic brand and a high end brand and they turn their nose up at it. Even if we mix wet food in with the kitten kibble they still turn their nose up at it. They only want to eat purely wet food or human food. My fiancee and I have literally found ourselves in the middle of a feeding frenzy more than once because when we sit down with our meal they attack us because they're starving themselves out of their pickyness. We had to make the mother an outside cat the other week (we live in the country) because she kept fighting with our fixed male. At that point the kittens were already eating wet food, but the mother wouldn't turn them away when they attempted to nurse. We've got no idea what to do. We can't see any reason why these kittens won't eat kitten kibble and are being so selective with how they eat. Any ideas to help?

Shih-poo puppy who is a very picky eater...?

I have a 9 month old Shih-poo puppy who has been a very picky eater since I got her. She is feed 2x daily now on Royal Canin Puppy 33. I give her about 3/4cups 2x a day. Her first feeding is at 7:00 and her last feeding is around 5:30-6:00. Sometimes she would go the whole day without eating and then she would be famished the next day and want to eat constantly. I brought this to the attention of the owner of our local PetValu store and they had mentioned to me to buy a dog pumpkin mix and add about a tablespoon of that to her kibble. I have been doing that for about 3-4 days now and she just totally loves it. However I only give it to her at her night time feeding. What I am noticing is that she will only pick at her breakfast feeding. My question is would it be safe to mix it in the morning and evening feedings? If so, is it safe to do daily or should I only do this every couple of days?

Cursing in Transformers 3?

My son loves the transformers toys and wants to go see the new movie. I don't mind the violence as much as I am nervous about the cursing. TF2 had repeated unnecessary cursing and I was wondering if this had been toned down a little bit in the third installment. I realize the movie is rated PG-13, that's not what I am asking. I took him to see Thor, which was PG-13 and I thought that was completely fine. It might have had a couple of bad words, but it was not something you noticed throughout the whole movie. Did I blow my chances of getting the job?

I went on a 1 part interview which went well - the employer said they would make a decision by end of week or next week and I sent a Thank You email same day. So Thursday rolled around and I still haven't heard anything yet, so I decided to send a follow up email expressing continued interest in the position (I was kind of unsure whether I should send it because I didn't want to seem desperate). Well as it turns out, I got a call on Friday from the employer telling me that they wanted me to come in for a 2nd interview on Monday morning. At first they said it was a 1 interview process, but now it's a 2 part interview. So I came in and they asked a few more questions and told me that they were having their candidates take a assessment test. I've never had to for what I do, but I was sure that I would do fine. I did ask how many candidates are in the running for this 2nd round and I also asked by when were they intent on making a decision. They told me by Wed or Thurs, because they want someone in there very soon. When I got home I sent another Thank You email. Well Wed came and went, and I was sure that I would get a call back with either yay or nay on THursday... 4:30 rolls around and I'm in suspense because I still haven't heard anything yet. So I decided to call them to find out where they were in their decision and to politely inform them that they said a decision would be made on Thursday and that I have been interviewing and was actually extended an offer earlier today. I told them that I didn't want to make a decision just yet because I'm more interested in this opportunity and wanted to hear back from them first. All in all the person I spoke with said they were still making a decision and calling references. Should I not have told them that I was extended an offer? My references haven't mentioned to me that anyone called. Did I blow it? I should hear back something tomorrow. Feedback is appreciated.....uuugghh....

1999 monte carlo suddenly wont turn over?

i have a 1999 monte carlo and have never had a problem with it. today i got my new car subwoofer amp in the mail so i decided to go and hook it up. i got all the wires run and the negative wire grouded out and everything. the last part was the positive wire. i went to undo the bolt which is actually on the fuse panel/box but it was rusty and wouldent come loose so i figured i run down to walmart and grab some wd40 but when i went to start the car nothing happened. all of the lights come on and all accesories work but no turning over at all. the starter motor does not make any sound at all. the only noise to be heard is a click in the fuse box and a louder click towards the rear of the engine after i let go of the key. i kept trying and after 30 tries it finnaly started. i let it run for a few minutes, shut it off and tried again and once again wont turn over. so far i have removed battery terminals and done a quick cleaning nothing crazy. and no difference so far. also one thing i find weird is that behind the bottom dash panel is a small led that im pretty shure ws installed by the previos owner. it has a black and red wire and a resistor and the led is flashing. i have no idea what this is. also the security light has been on since i have had the car and i have a spare key with no chip that works so i think the passcode system has aready been bypassed. before i take the car the garage i need some feedback just in case its anything i can do. as said before i have never ever had a problem with the car starting before.

Switching a dog from puppy kibble to adult kibble?

I switched my GSD from puppy to adult food early because he was gaining too much weight too fast. Could not feel his ribs. Personally I would come closer to believing the breeder than a vet, as some vet's don't know everything. A female GSD should weigh anywhere from 55-80 lbs roughly and it can vary depending on whether she full German bloodline or American. You should be able to feel her ribs fairly easily under her skin. Adult food is fine. I have mine on a grain free dry dog food, Taste of Wild, because he has food allergies, which is common in them also.

Will chews affect a dog's hunger level?

It has nothing to do with the chews. It has to do with you spoiling them with "extras" in their food. You have taught them that if they do not eat, yummy things appear in the food. No healthy dog will starve with food available, so you need to stand firm. When they get hungry, they will eat. The chews MIGHT make them hold out a little longer, but in the end they will give in if you give them no other choice.

Am I a bad dog owner for leaving my Min Pin at home for 12 hours?

I am a proud owner of a 4 year old Min Pin, and a 3 year old chocolate lab. My first thought when reading this was "your wife's friend must not have kids". Our mini pin was the first child of our family. I was pregnant with my son when we got her. I think because my body was preparing to be 'Mother', I went a little overboard with how I treated my dog (in some peoples eyes). Its something about min pins that makes their owners crazy for them. Maybe its 'the smaller the dog, the more crazy you are'. I would not take in personally. Let them get married and have human being children of their own, and Im sure she will even admit she has slipped a little on spoiling her four legged baby. My husband and I go out of town often and try to take our dogs with us as much as possible, but occasionally we have to ask someone to keep an eye on the dogs. Part of being a pet owner is to believe nobody in the world can care for your pups like you can. But being rude about it when someone took time out of their day to care for them when you couldn't is uncalled for. Unfortunately for you, it sounds like you were just caught in the crossfire of a very protective momma of a tiny little dog. 5 years from now you all will laugh. Also, the wedding reception she will be in the best mood of her life, that will be the best time to apologize for what happened :)

Okay my bf left the lid off my hamsters food last night and I woke up to my cat eating out of it!! It has like little pieces of hamster kibble, nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds still in the shell, and freeze dried carrots and fruits.. Idk how much he ate. I live in Canada. I had a car accident two days ago. The other party was in fault and my car is a write off. Now I have to deal with the other party’s insurance company to get compensated. I have heard that the insurance company pays me the book value of the car. This is not fair at all. My car had a lot of upgrades and I had no intention to sell it anytime soon. Best food to feed a dog/puppy: premium dry kibble or raw/cooked meats?

You will get a lot of mixed opinions on this. Wellness is a decent food. However, I believe you cannot get a better option than raw. Do you research on the raw diet if you decide to switch them over. There is more to it then just feeding them raw meet. They will need a certain percentage of bone, organ and meat. Be prepared for diarrhea in the beginning also. It's all worth it, and within a couple of weeks you will notice a difference in their coat, poops, teeth and no odor.

Should I delete my brothers game?

My brother ,15yo, has a ps3 with internet, he spends most if the day playing black outs. Somtimes I feel that he needs stop playing and get a life. I ask him to stop, but he tells me that im nobody to control his life. I feel that its ridiculous that he plays until 3am. My parents are worried for him, but give him the game to compensate missed quality time. I dont know if I should delete his accounts or I should be the one getting a life.

Should I limit protein in healthy 15-16 year olds?

They are now on a organic raw diet and loving it. However, I noticed between a 9 lb cat, an 11 lb cat, and my 7 lb dog, they are going through almost a pound of lamb a day plus he cats are finishing up a commercial raw poultry diet (about 2-4 oz a day between them watered down) and get a bit of urinary kibble and the cats both eat wayyy more lamb than the dog, who only gets 2 oz a day plus veggies and dried organs. All are a good healthy weight, Now the lamb is lamb stew meat, so I do have to remove a good bit of bone and solid fat from each 1 lb package, but the average lean meat yield is about 10 oz, so they're going through (each) 4 oz solid lean meat + 2 oz chicken, organs, and veggies + Wysong Uretic kibble(only for one) + Wellness probiotic treats + the occasional chunk of fat. This seems a bit much, considering the dog isn't much littler and only gets 2 oz of meat + 1 oz of veggies + dehydrated organs and kangaroo strips and is perfect weight and bursting with energy. but the kitties are doing wonderful, and I'd hate to mess with a good thing...

Why is windows DVD maker such a piece of ****?

Is there a decent, free program I can use to just get these DVDs done with? I've wasted about five now, because of this piece of ****. First there's a green bar, then I get that fixed, and it squishes the video, which is 16:9, to 4:3, and compensates by filling the rest of the 16:9 aspect ratio with black bars, then I get that fixed and there's no sound. It's just one thing after another with this trash program. It should be as simple as putting a disk in and burning, not fixing a million problems, only to be stuck with yet another problem, caused by the solution for the previous problem. What idiot made this?

Healthy pitt puppies, time to wean them yet?

My first time mother pit bull gave birth to 9 beautiful, large, healthy pups thanks to the calcium tabs she received every day. :) They are 5 wks old today. She absolutely hates to be around them and when we seclude her with them she just walks in circles and barks woefully. :( The pups are extremely healthy, and fully have the concept of drinking water out of a bowl and eating semi wet beneful puppy kibble from a pan altogether. Its the cutest thing. They use the bathroom on their own and play and fight and knaw on my ankles when I hang out with them. Since the mother dog makes such a raucous when we try to put her in the kennel with them, we have shortened her feeding times to around lunchtime and then she spends the night with them. But now, the spending overnight with them is too much for her. She barks and barks and we have close neighbors. I will continue to let them have her at lunchtime because that is when her **** are so full she looks hot and miserable. Then she doesnt complain. My question is, is this once a day feeding alright for the puppies and is it okay to leave her away from them over night? We tried this method last night and all seemed well. Should I continue? (My ankles are testament that the pups teeth are quite sharp now)

RAW FEEDERS ONLY PLEASE-Should I give bones to a 16 year old recent raw convert?

My two spayed female cats ate kibble for the first 14 years of their lives, (one is now 15 and one turns 16 in July) and than I guess I grew a brain lol. They now do still have to eat a bit of urinary kibble to prevent UTIs but eat mostly raw organic grass fed red meat and organic free range poultry and have been for about 6 monthes when I switched my puppy. Before that they got a lot of By Nature Organics grain-free canned. They love it and it's improved their health so much just in the six months that it's unbelievable. I'd been giving them commercial Paw Naturaw raw poultry patties (originally bought for the puppy, who refused) and recently started giving them some of the ground beef I had for the puppy (she absolutely will not eat bones so I give organic eggshell powder instead) I had been tearing it into tiny pieces for them under the assumption that if the puppy wouldn't eat it in one piece, neither would they. I was tearing up the pieces for my younger cat Tigger when lo and behold Tabitha didn't want to wait and attacked her portion whole and tore it up all by herself. I ws so proud of her! . Anyways, this leads my to believe she'd have no problem with tearing meat off of bones and possibly even consuming the bones themselves. Tigger still needs hers torn into itty bitty chunks unfortunatly, but I would LOVE to be able to give at least Tabitha raw meaty bones for the dental benefits but don't know if I should-she didn't grow up eating bones at all and I'm afraid she won't properly chew (her teeth aren't bad but not in the best shape) and end up choking. Also, what are the softest. easiest bones to start with? I'm thinking maybe chicken necks? Or maybe even day old chicks if I can find them? I'm not averse to anything no matter how expensive or gross as long as I can get it organic. .Since my puppy won't touch bones I've never fed them. Thanks!

You must keep all other forms of food out of reach, and I know from experience when she finally gets hungry enough, she will eat the kibble and like it. Only feed her the amount recommened by a vet. Its hard to deny them food when they give you "the face" but you are not doing them any favors.

DS: Switching dog foods and an important question?

hopefully you realize that you can't just switch your dog to a new food - you have to gradually introduce the new stuff to him or he will have non stop diarrhea. you should start with putting 1/4 new food in with the old food serve for a day or two then switch to 1/2 for several days and then 3/4 and then switch over. watching how he does with the bathroom situation will help direct you in how long to feed the mix. if he seems to do ok, you may be able to switch over quicker.

Small Kibble Puppy Food for a 1 pound puppy?

I recently got another addition to our family a 1 pound havanese who is 13 weeks old. She came to us as a rescue and only ate wet food because she had no teeth until now. Well I am trying to find a good kibble to mix with wet food so shes not getting used to just wet and be spoiled but having a heck of a time finding a kibble that isn't bigger than her. Our maltese eats orijen adult food so I bought a bag of orijen puppy...way too big, next was totw, too big again, then on to natures instinct, again too big, almost choked on this one...so I am looking for other toy puppy owners to let me know what small kibble they use. The only kibble that I have found at the store that is small is the crap food, purina, pro plan, etc. Do these high end dog food company's not think about these small pups that need a smaller kibble? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I remember a dog like that wouldn't eat at all, an Afghani dog. It would brush sand with its nose into the dog bowl of food and lie down in a reclining position in front of it. Strange behaviour.

I have two 15 year olds, both of whom recently started eating organic grain-free raw diets after a lifetime of kibble. The only issue is Tigger cannot stop eating at least some Wysong Uretic without getting a UTI. Tabitha is kibble-free and looks and acts fantastic since kicking it to the curb-she actually became violently ill today after getting ahold of a few mouthfuls after not having it for a long time but was fine again after a nap and proper meal :) Tigger has shown some improvements but you can definitely tell Tabitha is bette-like zoom around the house and pounce my chest better. I really want that for Tigger too, so can I use an herb of some sort to replicate the diet? I was looking at D-Mannose... also, Wysong's pH - supplemnt looks like it might work...opinions? I'm perfectly willing to go to whatever trouble or expense necessary

Why does my dog not eat at her bowl?

Haha that sounds like my dog. I had a steel bowl and he did that but he also got pimples on his chin from the food rubbing onto his face. I then got a ceramic bowl which he can't chew, carry around, and it is wide so he doesn't rub his face in everything. We do feed him twice a day though. I think that is better. She might gain weight though if you take the bowl away and teach her that she only has so long to eat-then she will eat it all. Maybe she is clausterphobic and just doesn't like the tiny space in the bowl. Haha my dog was so stubborn we let him eat off of a bake sheet so he wouldn't get those pimples but it didn't work. Hope she gets better. But really there is no problem with this, as maybe she hates the feel. Sorry I'm like rambling here- just want you to know. Hope I helped :)
